Our Mission, Our Story

The Chappaqua PTA is a Unit of the New York State Congress of Parents and Teachers, Inc., the New York State PTA, whose motto is every childone voice.

The NYS PTA recognizes that every child deserves excellence in education and in quality of life. NYS PTA will maintain its commitment and service to all children and to its diverse membership through increased parent and community awareness, advocacy, education and involvement.  The NYS PTA functions for the following purposes: to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship; to raise the standards of home life; to secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth; to bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth; to develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.  For more information, visit the New York State PTA website.

The Chappaqua PTA brings range of programming and activities to all parents and children of the Chappaqua School District. Our programs include STEMfest, Young Writers' Workshop, and Learning to Look art education.  We bring book fairs, after school enrichment, elementary and middle school theater, and high school senior musical to our schools.  We create yearbooks, school merchandise, Career Day, cultural enrichment, International Day, family barbecues, game nights, movie nights, fall festivals, Spooktaculars, craft fairs, class socials, bus safety, gardens, greenhouses, and nutrition.  We're your parent education programming (panel presentations and speakers), philanthropic and advocacy endeavors, and much, much more.  Our initiatives have been recognized by the regional PTA, which awarded the Chappaqua PTA the PTA Advocacy award in 2016 and the Highest Membership award in 2017.
