One Health Art Challenge
One Health is a concept that acknowledges that human and animal health are interconnected and that both are dependent on the health of the environment.
November 3rd is One Health Day, recognizing the importance of this concept as a framework for bringing together all kinds of experts like scientists, government officials and community leaders, to address big health challenges such as epidemics, antimicrobial resistance, and climate change.
The Chappaqua PTA STEM Committee is issuing its first One Health Art Challenge! Students are invited to create an artistic expression of the One Health concept to help bring awareness to this important approach to health. Some ideas include:
- A digital photo collage of diverse ecosystems, animals, and human activities
- A painting of an ecosystem, teeming with diverse wildlife and humans and showing how they interact
- An original piece of music that uses different instruments to represent various aspects of the environment, human, and animal life
- A sculpture showing connections between Earth, people and animals
We will share a digital representation of all entries in December. Select entries will be displayed at the Chappaqua Library.
